Jacinta Bronte-Tinkew
Child Trends

Jacinta Bronte-Tinkew, Senior Research Associate and Study Area Director, has been actively involved in studying fathers for about 6 years. At Child Trends she has been actively involved in collaborative work with several federal and private researchers aimed at introducing common fatherhood constructs into nationally representative surveys in the Developing a Daddy Survey (DADS) project. This project is currently funded by NICHD and ASPE/DHHS. Most recently with funding from NCES, Bronte-Tinkew and colleagues at Child Trends have designed the ECLS-B resident and non-resident father questionnaires for kindergarten and first grade waves of the study. Dr. Bronte-Tinkew is currently being funded by NICHD to conduct psychometric analyses of several measures of father involvement in ECLS-B fragile families and early Head Start Father Studies. Publications include Bronte-Tinkew, Moore, and Cabrera (2001), Bronte-Tinkew and Moore (2002), Cabrera et al. (2003), Bronte-Tinkew, Moore, and Carrano (In Press), and Bronte-Tinkew, Moore, Capps, and Zass (In press). Recent research focuses on father involvement, parenting styles and youth risk behaviors, father involvement and risky behaviors among immigrant children, fathers' prenatal involvement and child outcomes, and the factors associated with fathering a large number of children.
