Mindy Scott Child Trends
Dr. Mindy Scott, Research Scientist, has a background in sociology and demography. Dr. Scott conducts research and analyses in the fields of fatherhood, the role of fathers in children's lives, the consequences of fatherhood for men and children at all stages of the life course, and the effects of family structure and family transitions on child well-being. Dr. Scott is also involved in several evaluation projects designed to assess outcomes for fathers and their families in the District of Columbia, and a Supporting Healthy Marriages evaluation project that measures the effectiveness of programs that provide instruction and support to improve relationship skills among low-income couples. Dr. Scott has worked with national level data sets such as the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health), the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1997 (NLSY97), the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study-Birth Cohort (ECLS-B), and Fragile Families. She has expertise in the use of advanced statistical modeling techniques including logistic and multinomial regression, multilevel modeling, longitudinal data analysis, and structural equation modeling.
